Southern Africa has great tourism potential and the Regional Tourism Organization of Southern Africa (RETOSA) is identifying and addressing the key shortcomings and challenges through qualitative analysis and strategic actions.
We analysed the tourism performance of RETOSA member countries in terms of arrivals, receipts, overall competitiveness, air access, infrastructure and a range of other variables and came up with key priorities and recommendations for improving regional imbalances, in and outbound movement, conservation and other challenges. One of the key recommendations is the development of a regional growth strategy for improving the destination’s performance.
