Our associates TEAM Tourism and Oxford Archeaology have been engaged by the Xi'an city development corporation to devise a suitable development plan for the historical site of the capital of the Han Dynasty. We joined the project team in providing market related advice and concepts for tourism development on the site
The historical site of Han Dynasty capital (200 BC - 200AD) is a prime land area in Xi'an city. While visual relics are few and far in between substantial evidence of the Han city and culture lies buried on the site. While it has been declared a conservation area substantial urban development has occurred during the past decades and the challenge is to retain as much of the archeaological value of the site while optimising its value for the city. The project team presented various proposals for integrated urban renewal
